Peaceful location, character building, luxury accommodation

Brook Chapel, is beautifully renovated to a high standard and provides you with sumptuous surroundings in which to enjoy your holiday. The surrounding area is beautiful and well worth exploring.

Entering through a Porch into a large open plan, double height sitting/dining area, Brook Chapel certainly makes you exclaim "Wow". The decoration has been beautifully done not to detract from the wealth of period features. To the left is the twin bedroom and to the right is the Shower room. Straight ahead is the lovely big dining table seating 12 people. Slightly to the right is the main sitting area with big comfy sofas and a wood burner for those colder evenings, although Brook Chapel has underfloor heating throughout.

For extra entertainment there is a full size table football under the mezzanine floor, perfect for keeping children, or those, young at heart, busy on a wet day.

The kitchen is immaculate with solid granite worktops and plenty of work surfaces for preparing food. Fully fitted with a serving arch through to another smaller dining table seating 8. There are two highchairs available for use.

Up the stairs to the mezzanine there is a large landing, which has a double futon, this can accommodate a further two people if necessary. The landing has two good size double bedrooms and a bathroom leading off. Each of the bedrooms has original stained glass windows and allow the light to flood in, whilst giving privacy.

The garden has a garden bench table and a swing for the children. A large lawned area means the children can run around to their hearts content. The garden is completely enclosed so safe for both children and animals. There is also a paddock to the back of the Chapel, a little bit wilder than the garden but lovely for exploring.

Brook Chapel is perfect for families or people wanting a relaxing holiday. Set on the edge of a quiet village, with walks from the doorstep.

Quality duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. Woodburner with a basket of wood provided (additional logs for woodburner are charged at a nominal charge should you need them). Cot available on request.

If the mezzanine accommodation is to be used, there is an extra charge of £30 for any part or full week to cover additional costs.

Dog owners are welcome to bring one or two well behaved dogs. Cost £15.00 per week or part thereof. Dogs must not be left unattended either in the cottage or the garden, or allowed on the beds or furniture. Please clean up any mess your dog makes in the garden. Area around Brook Chapel

Visitors have been coming to the Wye and Usk valleys for centuries. It's not hard to see why when you get there. The steep-sided, densely wooded Wye and the lush farmland surrounding the Usk are the perfect setting for producing the best quality food and drink.

Experience the food and delights of Abergavenny Market, the legend of King Arthur at Caerleon, or enjoy the scenic beauty of Caldicot Castle and its 55-acre country park.

The Norman town of Chepstow, with the first Castle to be built in Britain since the Norman Conquest, and the start/finish of the Wales Coast Path is only a short distance away. The picturesque towns of Monmouth (about ten minutes away) or Usk (about 20 mins away), in the heart of Monmouthshire, are worth a trip.

Tintern Abbey is very close by and there is also Parva Farm Vineyard, with award winning wine. The farm shop sells not only wines, but also offers Meads, Welsh Cheese, Honey, Preserves, and more.

If you are feeling energetic then there are two long distance walks Offa's Dyke and the Wye Valley Walk.

Reviews

September 2015 "We did enjoy our holiday in this unique property which had nearly everything you need. The location was perfect for getting out walking or driving. The only problem we thought could be improved would be a laymans explanation of how the central heating system should be operated. Apart from that an excellent experience."

July 2015 "Brook Chapel: excellent place to stay at! We can recommend it."

Aug 2014 (when asked for feedback) the reply was.. "Simple. Brilliant."

Oct 2012 "Brook Chapel was an amazing place to stay. The property had been converted to a very high standard and has everything you would need for a comfortable break away, come rain or shine. The village and surrounding area is very pretty and has plenty of footpaths to walk the dogs and beautiful countryside/places of interest to visit with the car."

Aug 2012 "Great place, memorable time, will definitely recommend to all my friends and family."

Nov 2012 "We thank you for providing us with a beautiful place to celebrate a birthday. The Chapel has been renovated to an incredibly high standard and I cannot fault it. The surrounding area is a bonus, with beautiful woods/forests to walk in and views of the Wye Valley. We also found that the communication between ourselves and both Country Holiday Lets/the owners was excellent, and every question was answered. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at Brook Chapel and hope to visit again in the future!"

Scenic Area with Pretty Market Towns to explore

The surrounding area is outstandingly beautiful. In fact it includes parts of the Wye Valley AONB and the Brecon Beacons National Park.

The Wye Valley AONB is a unique landscape made up of a collection of different landscape zones which can be divided broadly into two halves the Lower Wye Gorge between Chepstow and Symonds Yat with its dramatic limestone cliffs and narrow floodplain, and the gentler Herefordshire Lowlands north of Ross on Wye where the river meanders across the red sandstone.
