Wonderful location with glorious views

Molly's Barn is in a wonderful secluded spot, nestled in amongst a backdrop of trees it is set up above the owner's own beautiful cottage and offers glorious views of the surrounding countryside.

Although secluded Molly's Barn is only a short drive from two small villages where a local pub can be found for food. Molly's Barn is a recent conversion of the top floor in a detached timber clad barn. The entrance is reached by a staircase to the right of the barn and leads straight in to the open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Wonderfully light and bright it is a comfortable space extremely well thought out to maximize space There is a cosy woodburner and electric heaters so no need to worry about feeling cold. As Molly's Barn is on the top floor in the eaves there is restricted head height in certain areas and therefore probably not suitable for extremely tall people (6' 5" and over).

Straight ahead is the lovely light bedroom with dual aspect windows. There is a 5' wide kingsize bed that can be split into 2 singles on request. Quality duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided.

The bathroom is to the right off the open plan sitting/dining/kitchen and has a bath with hand held shower head, wc and wash hand basin.

The kitchen is well fitted out including a dishwasher and washing machine perfect for those who want to spend their time in the outdoors whatever the weather.

Molly's Barn is in one of those areas where mobile signals are hit or miss with Orange or Vodaphone getting the best reception. There is wifi in the barn so you are not entirely cut off from the world and a landline can be accessed in case of emergencies.

All in all Molly's Barn is a wonderful retreat away from the world, secluded and peaceful a place to recharge your batteries and enjoy the wonderful surrounding countryside.

A lovely area with lots to see and do, walks starting from the door, easy access to South Shropshire towns and historical sites. Walking, cycling or riding or exploring the small market towns nearby, perfect, whatever the season.

Other walks in the area include Offa's Dyke running for a total of 180 miles north - south along the ancient border of England and Wales and the Kerry Ridgway the old trade and drover's route from Wales to the lowland English markets.

September 2016 "My wife and I had a very enjoyable week, the accommodation was fist class, somewhat more remote than we anticipated but beautiful and peaceful never the less. We would definitely recommend "Mollys Barn" for a chill out break."

About Molly's Barn

A perfect rural retreat in the heart of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Molly's Barn is surrounded by countryside. It provides an idyllic base to explore the surroundings from and has stunning views over to Linley Hill with its famous avenue of beech trees.

There are a number of castles to explore within an hours drive of Molly's Barn such as Ludlow, Powis, Stokesay all of which have fascinating histories being on the borders of Wales and England.

The market towns are worth a visit with local independant shops, local produce and good food served in the pubs.

The nearest supermarket to Molly's Barn is in Churchstoke, 10 minutes drive away and the nearest pub for food is The Crown in Wentnor. Bishops Castle is the nearest market town with its own brewery Three Tuns and plenty of shops to browse around. It still has livestock auctions and a farmers market. There is also a walking festival held every year in June.

The Bog Visitor Centre is worth a visit. Believed to be unique this is Britains only gas lit visitor centre, housed in an old Victorian School. The Bog used to be a thriving mining community, with an old lead mine 1300ft above sea level, some remains of the the village are left, the Old School House, the Lead Mine and the Somme Tunnel.

This is the idyllic country retreat, there is plenty to see and do. Visit our Events Calendar, Attractions, Things to do for free and Where to Eat pages for more ideas.

The lane leading up to Molly's Barn is more like a private drive to the cottage and is not used a great deal other than by a few residents, it is narrow with few passing spots, take care when driving and take it slowly.
