Court Cottage

On the Worcester/Hereford border, Court Cottage is an imaginative conversion of a grain barn in a courtyard setting beside the owners own beautiful country house.  Set in the owners landscaped gardens of about one acre it is the perfect spot for a country getaway.  Lovely views from the garden across the paddocks, one which contains a wildlife pond with benches dotted around ideal for birdwatching (ducks, geese, owls and heron to mention a few), relaxing or star gazing at night.  The small village has an excellent pub in walking distance and a lovely church. Nearby the towns of Ludlow, Tenbury Wells, are within an easy drive.

Fishing (Trout or Course) close by in the river a ten minute walk away, lots of walks on the doorstep, see our Things to do for Free for walks in the area.

Description

Although situated in a sleepy little village, Court Cottage is the ideal base for some of the area's leading attractions, West Midlands Safari Park , Witley Court (English Heritage), Hartlebury Castle, the Severn Valley Steam Railway, The Wyre Forest and Ludlow Castle to name but a few.

Entering the cottage into the hall, there is a short flight of stairs leading to an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room with lovely wood floors and rugs, incredibly spacious, yet cosy with the wood burner making a focal point. The bedrooms are all downstairs, throughout there are beams which remind you how old Court Cottage is.  Refurbished to a high standard with modern insulation, oil fired central heating and a woodburner you can be sure Court Cottage is toasty warm in the winter but lovely and cool in the summer.

Downstairs are two bedrooms and a bathroom, one complete with king-size double bed (which can be converted to twin beds) with additional pull out single and a seperate single bedroom.  The bathroom has an electric shower over the bath.  The downstairs has ceramic tiled floors with rugs.

One well behaved dog by arrangement, if you are staying with your dog there are a few basic rules; do not leave your dog unattended either in the cottage or the garden, please clean up any mess your dog makes either in the garden or village, please do not allow the dog into the bedrooms.  A large dog cage can be provided should you wish to use it. Dogs are charged at £15.00 per pet per week or part thereof.

Court Cottage is a perfect rural location that is not too isolated with walks and activities on the doorstep, a short drive from several local market towns and historic sights, so the best of everything, whatever the weather or season.

Reviews

Aug 2011

"We had a really good time at Court Cottage, which we thought was beautifully fitted out and ideal for a short break. We appreciated the owner's touches - the packet of Hobnobs and local beer - and the cottage had everything you need (not always the case). Lovely village and stretch of countryside."

Oct 2010

"We had a great holiday at Court Cottage. The location was lovely and peaceful and the cottage itself was beautifully clean and cosy. Birgit made us very welcome and we would definitely return for another visit."
