Superb five star quality, rural location, perfect for family gatherings

The accommodation is on two levels, with two entrances one at the back from the terrace and one at the front from the car park. Entering the large open plan, sitting, dining, kitchen area the room runs the whole length of the building. Light and bright with comfortable squashy sofas at one end, the staircase in the middle and the kitchen with it's unique breakfast bar/dining table at the other end. The kitchen is fully fitted with everything you could need and reflects the five star nature of the building being of top quality. Off the kitchen is the en suite disabled bedroom, with a king-size zip link bed (can be converted to two small singles on request), which also has it's own entrance from the car park for ease of access. The disabled wet room has a large shower, wc and wash hand basin.

On the first floor are two further ensuite double bedrooms, which both have Super kingsize zip link beds (can be converted to two singles on request). The en suites to both bedrooms have large walk in showers and generous sized baths, wc's and wash hand basins, they are the height of luxury. On the landing at the top of the stairs is a further cloakroom for visitors with wc and wash hand basin. Quality duvets, pillows, bed linen, fluffy bathrobes and towels are provided. Cot and high chair available on request.

Petunia has many original features that are a delight to discover as you wander around, such as the breakfast bar which was the old cider press, all original to the building. For a large family or a group of friends Petunia is perfect giving you the flexibility of accommodation to suit most needs, including disabled facilities on the ground floor.

If you are looking for somewhere different to stay for your holiday, Petunia is perfect. The complex of lets here mix the modern and the old beautifully, to give guests the best of both worlds. Each of the lets has something different to offer and they are great for large groups or families wishing to holiday together but have their own space. There is a function room that holds 50 people, on site, that can be hired for a special occasion.

Whatever the weather or season there are lots of attractions and activities in the area to keep everyone happy. A rural escape with an historic twist.

Changeover days are any day of the week, short breaks are available (minimum of 3 night stay). A £250.00 security deposit will be requested by the homeowner on or before arrival as surety against any damages. This will be refunded by cheque within one week following an inspection after your departure. When choosing dates, please select the duration of your stay on the drop down menu above the calendar, then float and click the pointer over the desired starting date. Your choice should appear below the calendar.

Arrival after 3.00pm please and departure before 10.00am. All bookings carry a booking fee of £35.00 already included in the advertised price, unless it is a repeat booking at the same cottage within three years, then there is no booking fee charge. Set in the beautiful Wye Valley

Petunia is part of a converted medieval complex, sitting below Goodrich Castle , near Ross on Wye in South Herefordshire. There are ten lets in total, all of the lets have the character expected from old buildings. Petunia is detached from the other nine lets and stands on its own to the right of the main building. A fabulous position and great for exploring the areas of outstanding natural beauty surrounding it, Brecon Beacons, Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley.

Five minutes walk from the River Wye. Coarse fishing is available to guests, a one mile stretch of single bank, south of Kerne Bridge, day tickets need to be booked . Licences can be bought in the local post office, the Wye and Usk Foundation or online at the Environment Agency .

Goodrich Castle is an easy walk away and there are many other historical castles and churches locally worth exploring. Symonds Yat, Symonds Yat Rock and Symonds Yat East are popular walking and viewing points that are easily reached from Petunia. Walking, Cycling, Riding, White Water Rafting and Canoeing are all close by for the more active. For those wishing for a more sedate break there's antique hunting in the local market towns, book browsing at Hay and many local artisan studios are within easy reach.

The holiday let is in a good location to explore South Shropshire, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire and Wales. There are several market towns, all with historic interest:, Ludlow, Leominster and Hereford. There is a photo gallery for Hay on Wye and Gloucester. Other towns of interest are Clun and Bishop’s Castle with its local Brewery The Three Tuns, perfect for Real Ale lovers.

Smaller places, such as Dymock and Kempley are well worth a visit as well as Ledbury, Gloucester and Worcester. Near by is The Forest of Dean and further away is The Malverns and The Brecon National Park

The river Wye is about five minutes walk away and two pubs are within walking distance. Above is Goodrich Castle and within 10 minutes drive you can visit Symonds Yat one of the key locations and mentioned in the famous Picturesque tour of the Wye which was the World's first tourist book. Coarse and fly fishing are available, depending on the season. There are 4 stretches of the river. Booking should be in advance and is subject to availability, with a maximum of 4 rods per stretch.

There are some extraordinarily beautiful views of the river, fishing, canoeing and a choice of superb walks. The Forest of Dean is near-by and further afield is Hereford, Ross, Hay on Wye. You can drive to further down the valley of the Wye to the beautiful and haunting Tintern Abbey mentioned in Wordsworth's Prelude.
