Situated under two miles from the centre of Presteigne along a beautiful leafy lane, you turn right to the cottage location. Set on the side of a hill it has magnificent 180 degree views. After parking there is a short ramp to the front door.
On entering Honeysuckle there is a small hall area partly open to the living room. A few steps takes you into a room with two large comfy sofas, a lovely wood burner and magnificent dual aspect window views across thousands of acres of Welsh and English countryside. Straight ahead, from the hall area at the entrance, is the door to the kitchen.
The kitchen is large and well arranged. It too, benefits from dual aspect windows with, again, a magificent view from the window nearest to the dining table. All the fittings are good quality and considerable thought has been put into making everything practical and easy. Leaving the kitchen and back in the living room there is a door to the left (opposite the woodburner). This leads along a short corridor.
On the left is a double bedroom (Bedroom 1) themed green, complete with dressing table and TV. Opposite this room is a well appointed bathroom with bath, separate walk in shower, wc and wash hand basin. Continuing to the end of the short corridor to the left is a twin bedroom (Bedroom 2) and straight on is an ensuite bedroom (Bedroom 3) which is, again, a dual aspect room with views from one window and a pleasant outlook and mid distance views from the other. The ensuite has a walk in shower, wc and wash hand basin. The bedroom also has a small chaise longue to the foot of the bed. Quality duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. A travel cot is available on request.
Outside is a generous private garden area with similarly magnificent views, a bbq, table and chairs to seat 6 are supplied. Perfect to enjoy alfresco eating or a glass of wine. Honeysuckle is near-by to the owners house but is separate and the garden is not overlooked. From the garden, a gate leads to superb walks in woodlands and across the hills.

June 2017 "We had a good break at Honeysuckle. The property is very clean and tidy, and generally well set-out. The views are very impressive. It's a pleasant, quiet place for a holiday..................."
August 2016 "We stayed at Honeysuckle last week with our son, daughter in law and grandson. The cottage was superbly equipped throughout and worked well for us and the owners were very helpful and not intrusive at all. It was a relaxing holiday home for us to use with fantastic views!"
June 2016 "This is probably the 4th year that we have been back to Presteigne and Honeysuckle. We love the area and we particularly love staying in the cottage."
October 2015 "Just back from our third visit ( second this year ) to Honeysuckle Cottage. As before always welcoming, clean and comfortable. Owners are very nice and helpful. We left happy and relaxed after our break. Many thanks to Jenni and Mike for the Goodies left for us, they were all enjoyed."
October 2015 "Upon arrival at Honeysuckle we were given a warm greeting by the owner of the property who was very friendly and helpful. We found the property to be in excellent order. It was spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated with a real homely feel about it. Honeysuckle contained everything that we needed to make our stay really comfortable and enjoyable. The welcoming tea tray complete with cookies and the milk and wine in the fridge were a lovely added extra and much appreciated.
Honeysuckle is set in a wonderful location with stunning scenery and is an ideal holiday cottage. It was lovely to have such wonderful views over the countryside and to be able to sit outside and enjoy the amazing views. ..................
Finally, I’d just like to say thank you very much – we had a wonderful stay at Honeysuckle and would thoroughly recommend it and really hope to return again next year."
September 2016 "We had a lovely week thank you, Jenny was extremely friendly and helpful going out of her way to make sure we had what we needed.Honeysuckle was very comfortable, clean and well equipped and of course the view is stunning........ "
August 2015 "We had a wonderful few days at Honeysuckle Cottage again. The owners are very helpful. Last year they put down some pavers on the gravel to make it easier for my mum-in-law to negotiate the sloped entrance, and also a grab rail in one of the showers. This year when I said that it would be great if they could put a grab rail in the other shower too, they did it without quibble and needless to say, my mum-in-law was delighted.
The ever changing panoramic view from the living room is so wonderful that even if we had had to stay in all day it wouldn't have mattered, especially as the cottage is very comfortably furnished and feels spacious. We would recommend this beautiful haven to anyone."
July 2015 "We have just returned from our second visit to Honeysuckle Cottage, Presteigne. Just as lovely as before. Lovely, clean, comfortable, welcoming cottage, with simply gorgeous views. The owners are lovely and friendly but leave you to do whatever.
Many thanks to Jenni and Mike who left us Wine, Ale, Biscuita, Tea, coffee and Sugar.
Some great places and areas to visit and Presteigne has all you need to get whatever provisions you may need."
May 2015 "I would like to say that we had an amazing week at the Honeysuckle. The cottage exceeded our expectations in all respects: it was well-positioned, had enormous views, was very comfortable, warm and cosy, and the hosts were delightful and very helpful. They were extremely gracious in leaving a bottle of wine and some good ales in the fridge for us, as well as a tea/coffee tray. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and we had no shortage of kitchen utensils or tableware, no matter what we were about to cook/roast/fry. The dishwasher was a great help, too! Ludlow with its delights was 16 miles away, and Kington - 6 miles. I really enjoyed our stay and I am sad to see myself back to reality :-(. We were so delighted with it that we would like to re-book Honeysuckle cottage."
April 2015 "We thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The cottage was in excellent condition and it was hard to find even a spec of dust. The location is very beautiful and the owners are extremely kind and helpful. The beds were laid out cleanly and the linen were perfect. In the kitchen, we had all the basic things like sugar, salt, some milk etc. The cottage had three big bedrooms that can easily accommodate upto 6 people with ample storage ........
...Overall, we loved it and would definitely return in the future. I would highly recommend this place to friends."
December 2014 "Hello Honeysuckle cottage is a credit to the owners. I recommend this cottage without reservation."
Sept 2014 "We had a lovely time, the property was as advertised and the hosts very welcoming. We couldn’t find any fault and in fact we were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen was so well equipped. There was plenty to read and watch on dvd and games were provided. The owners were friendly without being intrusive and watching the dog bounding through the field in the morning was a delight."
July 2014 "Have just returned from our stay in Honeysuckle, what a spotless and very comfortable cottage, nothing could be faulted. The views all around are so beautiful and so peaceful and quiet, the only sounds you hear are birds and sheep. The owners who are very pleasant and non intrusive left us wine, tea, milk and biscuits ( many thanks ). Would recommend and would not hesitate to return."
June 2014 "...the cottage was well appointed very clean and had beautiful surrounding views and the owners respected our privacy and welcomed us with a bottle of wine on our arrival..."
May 2014 "We had a lovely stay at Honeysuckle cottage. Would highly recommend it for a peaceful stay with fantastic views. The cottage is very comfortable and we will definitely be back again."
April 2014 "Good sized property with fantastic views over the valley. Furnished to a high standard. Plenty of information leaflets on local attractions. Friendly, non-intrusive owners. Great quiet, isolated location. The EE mobile phone signal gave very good reception. Good location for access to great walking around Elan valley, and yet only a mile up-hill from Presteigne where there’s a good selection of pubs, and shops for holiday supplies......"
March 2014 "I booked this cottage for four nights in March as part of a suprise for my dads 60th. It was exactly what we wanted, a quiet escape in the countryside with breathtaking views. We absolutely loved it!! It was clean with a nice modern cottage feel to it. The kitchen was big enough to accommodate 6 of us. There was a selection of board games in the cupboard which we made use of during the evenings whilst sitting infront of the wood burner with a glass of wine. You can take a walk into the woods which start at the bottom of the garden and Presteigne is less than a mile walk down the lane. Thank you Jenni and Mike(owners of the cottage)and thanks for the complimentary wine, beer, milk and tea!"
Feb 2014 "We were very impressed with Honeysuckle cottage. It was very well equipped, immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. Despite it being February we were warm and cosy. The scenery was lovely and we enjoyed watching the view through the big windows change during the day and evening! The lane up to the cottage is quite rough and unlit at night so this limited us going out in the evening, but this wouldnt be a problem in lighter summer months. The little town of Presteigne 5 to 10 minutes down the hill has a handful of shops, enough for provisions for a few days. The tv reception in the cottage can be erratic and we could only access the wi fi in one of the bedrooms, this wasnt a major problem to us but a little disappointment to our teenage son! On arrival we were met and shown into the cottage by the owner who seemed very friendly, it was nice to know they were next door if we had had any hitches! ...It was certainly a serious contender for the best self catering accomodation we have stayed in over many years all over Britain."
Nov 2013 "We thought Honeysuckle Cottage was fab! The view was beautiful and ever changing. Even if it had been bad weather, we could happily have sat in the lounge and enjoyed reading and looking out of the window. The cottage itself has been fitted out to a very high standard. The bathrooms are spacious and modern, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and the decor throughout is tasteful and pleasing. The owners who live next door are very helpful but not intrusive. The countryside around is wonderful - for walking, touring or exploring. We would recommend Honeysuckle Cottage to anyone.....Finally, we appreciated the flexible booking system - a great advantage if you want to go for less than a week."
Sept 2013 "Just the best cottage we have ever stayed at in 25years. Everything was excellent. The decor, fittings and views were the best. Cannot really say any more than this."
Sept 2013 "The accommodation was fabulous. Thank you for all you help."
Situated under two miles from the centre of Presteigne, on the Shropshire/Powys borders, Honeysuckle is set on the hillside with far reaching views over many acres of English and Welsh countryside. It is the perfect spot for birdwatching, relaxing or exploring the countryside. Offas Dyke is in walking distance and there are footpaths and routes that are ideal for walking and cycling, whatever your capabilities are.
This area has miles of bridleways, away from any main roads, and so is wonderful horse riding country. The nearby town of Presteigne to the East has several excellent pubs. Great pubs within ten minutes drive The Radnorshire Arms, The Dukes Arms and The Farmers Inn. There are several other places a short drive away Clun. Bucknell, Ludlow, all with historic interest.
Presteigne has a farmers' and craft market on the first Saturday of each month and a flea market on the third Saturday of each month. There is a classical music festival at the end of August each year. The Royal Welsh Show is in July and a Vintage car rally is in October. The Judges Lodgings Museum is worth a visit in the centre of Presteigne.
To the west are the Elan Valley Dams and to the North is the Offa's Dyke Visitors Centre at Knighton.
