"We absolutely thoroughly enjoyed staying at Hope Cottage. Beautiful place attention to detail everything you could possibly want or need has been thought about. We are still talking about it so I think that tells you everything you need to know.I cannot recommend this highly enough such a pleasure to stay there." "had a fantastic time at Artist's Retreat. Calm relaxing and so very peaceful. The log burner gave the cottage a warm and cosy feel all day. Loads of places to eat within a short drive . The birds and wildlife in the garden were fantastic when looked at from the huge window in the bedroom I did not want to move from the bed. Thank you so much." November 2014
The Old Stables "Dear Country Holiday Lets, For the last dozen or so summers Ann and I have been renting a largish house for as many of our children/grandchildren as care to join us. We are all agreed that The Old Stables is the best of these houses, and this is discounting the rosy glow that a week of excellent weather sheds on the experience. The Old Stables had more than enough space, inside and out, for all 10 of us. The large garden was used for glider flying and gentle ball games, mostly using the good range of equipment provided. In the house, the kids commandeered "the snug" as their base, and the large lounge and even larger library/music/table tennis gallery meant that there was more communal space than anyone could reasonably expect.Above all what made the house stand out was its atmosphere. Immediately on first stepping through the door, it felt comfortable and welcoming without the rather clinical and impersonal air often found in holiday lets. It really conveyed the feeling that it was cared for and valued. As for improvements it is difficult to suggest any. One slightly wider approach road would be good but perhaps a double-edged sword, even if achievable. My research physicist son, inspecting the range of fruit pitting devices in the kitchen drawer, commented on the lack of a pair of silver grape scissors, as used in his Oxford Senior Common Room. Suffice it to say The Old Stables is a superb holiday house. Our attitude is summed up by my 7 year old grandson, who very reluctant to leave, said "Why don't we buy the house?" August 2014
"The Granary is a beautifully and immaculately restored property adjacent to the owners farmhouse with lovely views and a lot of sheep for company! It is situated in a most beautiful and and unspoilt part of the country with so much to see and do we ran out of time. The Granary is very well equipped and is warm and cosy, close to pubs and shops, yet far enough away for peace and quiet. The owners Jan and John are warm and welcoming but not obtrusive. We had a lovely holiday and hope to return in the spring." September 2014
"We had a lovely time, Honeysuckle was as advertised and the hosts very welcoming. We couldn’t find any fault and in fact we were pleasantly surprised that the kitchen was so well equipped. There was plenty to read and watch on dvd and games were provided. The owners were friendly without being intrusive and watching the dog bounding through the field in the morning was a delight." September 2014
At Country Holiday Lets, we care for quality and value.
