Away from Busy Roads with Use of Large Garden

Serenity is an attached cottage, with another holiday let ( Harmony , sleeps 4) next door, and the owner's own property next to that. Both Serenity and Harmony can be booked together, perfect for family holidays. In a lovely location away from busy roads, the cottage is approached by a gravelled drive and parking is immediately outside the cottage. Serenity has the use of the owner's large garden and ample seating areas dotted about to stop and enjoy the wildlife. For children there is a flat lawned area for those all important games of football, essential to burn of all that energy.

On entering the cottage into a large hallway, the stairs are straight ahead of you and to the right is an open plan dining/sitting area with a lovely woodburner for those chillier evenings. Off the dining area is the kitchen recently refurbished and fitted with all the modern day facilities you need for a holiday. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with wc off the hallway. Upstairs are two large bedrooms and a bathroom. The Kingsize bedroom overlooks the garden and is light and bright. The twin bedroom, that can be made into a super kingsize on request, also overlooks the garden. Quality duvets, pillows, bed linen and towels are provided. A Cot and high chair are available on request. The bathroom is light and bright and has been recently refurbished with both a bath and walk in shower.

Pets are welcome and are charged at £15.00 per pet, per week or part thereof (maximum of 2 dogs). If you are staying with your dog there are a few basic rules; do not leave your dog unattended either in the cottage or the garden, please clean up any mess your dog makes in the garden, please do not allow the dog upstairs into the bedrooms or on the furniture. This cottage is surrounded by farmland where livestock are grazing so please make sure your dog is kept on a lead at all times around livestock. About Pet Friendly

Serenity is next to Harmony. The two cottages can be booked together and can work well for parties of six or eight. Please ring us for more information, only one booking fee would apply.

Hampton Court Castle is on the doorstep and a perfect place to visit any time of year. The Hampton Court Estate has a rich and fascinating history dating back to before the 15th Century. As recently as the turn of this century, it is believed to have extended to over 60,000 acres. The Gardens at Hampton Court Herefordshire, recently completed, are one of the most ambitious garden creations of our time. Original Victorian garden walls enclose stunning new flower gardens divided by canals, island pavilions and pleached avenues. The kitchen garden is an ornamental garden of fruit and vegetables. It is managed organically, supplying produce to the Orangery Restaurant for its seasonal menu. There is a maze of a thousand yews with a gothic tower at its centre. Climb to the top for a panoramic view of the gardens or descend underground to a tunnel that leads to a waterfall in the sunken garden. Beautiful herbaceous borders stretch out from a one hundred and fifty year old wisteria tunnel that leads to vast lawns and ancient trees beside the castle. Beyond the lawns are riverside and woodland walks.

Queenswood Country Park is also close by and has a stunning arboretum. Queenswood is the only designated Country Park in the County, it is home to a 67 acre tree collection (arboretum) with over 1,200 rare and exotic trees from all over the world and 103 acres of semi-natural ancient woodland which is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and Local Nature Reserve (LNR).

An ideal base for those wanting a complete break from it all. There is no need to travel anywhere if you don't want to, although within an hours drive are some of the area's leading attractions: Hereford with its Cathedral and famous Mappa Mundi is within 20 minutes drive. Leominster with it's Priory and locally owned shops is a very nice place to wander around, it is also the starting point for the Black and White Village trail only 20 minutes drive away. Ludlow (Church, Shops & Michelin Star restaurants), Ludlow Castle , Hay on Wye (bookshops galore) as well as independent shops, cafes and galleries.

Walking, cycling or riding or exploring the small market towns nearby, Serenity is perfect, whatever the season.

A £100 security deposit will be requested by the homeowner on or before arrival as surety against any damages. This will be refunded by cheque within one week following an inspection after your departure. When choosing dates, please select the duration of your stay on the drop down menu above the calendar, then float and click the pointer over the desired starting date. Your choice should appear below the calendar.

Arrival after 3.00pm please and departure before 10.00am. If you are repeat booking you will need to ring to book on 01568 612467.

We couldn't have had a more enjoyable week."

Dec 2012 "We had a great holoday at Serenity. Lovely location and the cottage itself was outstanding. We enjoyed the local pub...... Pat and Gill made us feel very welcome."

June 2012 "We had a fantastic time at Serenity Cottage in Vauld,Herefordshire. The cottage was warm and the decoration and furniture were new and spotless. It was the best place we have stayed at for a long time. The weather of course was wet and windy which was a shame because there were some lovely garden furniture to sit in the enchanting garden. We hope to return sometime in the future, a plus point is a local bus runs near the cottage and is very useful to see the area without taking your car out. The owners were friendly and helpful for local eating out places and pubs. There are lovely gardens to visit all in a short drive to get to from the cottage well worth a visit."

"I would really like to say how much my son and I enjoyed our stay in Serenity Cottage. Everything that we needed and more was provided in the cottage. Owners very friendly. As for the area, this was perfect, lots of quirky places to find on our days out. I would certainly recommend this as a holiday place and will hopefully be able to return next year."

About Serenity

Tucked away in a little known area of The Vauld in North Herefordshire is this lovely cottage, Serenity. The area is unspoilt countryside but only a short drive from all the local amenities. The nearest market town is Leominster to the north, known for it's antique shops and the city of Hereford to the south. Serenity is located not far from the Marches Way so for walkers this place is ideal. Lockable storage for bikes is also available.

The nearest shop and pub is about a mile and a half away. The cottage limits it's carbon footprint as much as possible and uses the sun's energy for the hot water heating, amongst many other things.
